Join Beautiful Newtonville’s Street Planter Program

Witness the first spark of beautification to hit Washington St. in honor of Mother’s Day this Sunday. Beautiful Newtonville is unveiling the first of 20 planters for the Washington St. business district. This project is a collaboration between Beautiful Newtonville, Newton North High School students in MassNineforThe9th, a carpentry and social service program, Washington Street businesses, and local residents

Six Planters will be unveiled at 3:00 pm, May 11, Mother’s Day

The first 6 planters will be installed in a light-hearted ceremony outside of Rice Valley, Karoun, Give and Take, 2nd Appearance, and Aroma nails, due to their contribution and the donations of generous residents. Sparkling beverages will be served.

More Planters to come

We will have 14 more planters on Washington St. by June 25. Due to the generous donations of Newtonville residents and businesses, including Cabot’s Ice Cream, Cha’Ba Thai Bodywork, Cook Restaurant, Dunkin Donuts, John T. Burns Insurance, Sam’s Auto Center (Sunoco), and The Paint Bar we have raised $5,000 to date. We will expand to Walnut St. once road re-construction is finalized.
