Paul Louderback is co-founder of the Rox Diner, which he first opened in West Roxbury in 2007. His second location, on Walnut Street in Newtonville, is a popular Newton eatery and community gathering spot. With a degree in civil engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the nation’s oldest technological university, Paul implemented the construction of roads and traffic intersections before starting his gastronomic career. Born in Newton, Paul pitched and played shortstop for Newton South Varsity baseball, was All American at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and still pitches in the Boston Park League, the nation’s oldest Amateur baseball league. He has analyzed parking in downtown Newtonville, looks forward to applying his civil engineering experience to the village’s revival-in-progress, and he and his wife expanded their family by 33.3% in 2012, through the birth of their son, Thomas.
